My Week Thus Far - It’s Only Thursday
Monday - Got up, exercised, hot shower, work (11 hours), went to Mom and Dad’s to watch a fascinating slide show of my Dad’s road trip through Kansas, got home to find my gas had been shut off.
Tuesday - Got up, exercised, semi-hot-mostly-cold-shower, work (9.5 hours), took Kirk to his new owners, Sister came over for a visit (this was fun!).
Wednesday - Slept in because it was stormy, didn’t get to bathe, work (13 hours), got home to find my power had been shut off, spent the night at Mom and Dad’s.
Thursday - Got up, exercised, hot shower at their house, took James home and got frozen foods to put in their deep freeze, paid power bill, work (11 hours), staying the night at Katie’s because the power isn’t back on yet, packed, drove half way to her apartment got flat tire, Dad came to change it to the spare, and here I am.
What will Friday hold for me?? Can it go down hill from here?? What good did I find in all of this??
I have a wonderful, healthy son.
I have a job.
I have a Dad that’s willing and able to come change my flat tire.
I have kittens playing around me and sometimes climbing on me.
I have a car that’s paid for and still works well.
I have a house that I love.
I get to go away for a spa weekend with Mom tomorrow after work.
There’s vodka at Katie’s house.
I have parents that will let me crash at their house and let me use the main shower first.
I’m alive.
Not only did you dad come change the tire, but he knelt and laid down in freshly paved, tarry shoulder with gusty winds beckoning an oncoming storm.
Yeah. Can you say, “hero?”

We have the best Dad. Not only will he help us when we have car trouble but if we’re at the cemetary as dusk is approaching and a complete stranger approaches us for assistance with her dead battery, he will drop what he’s doing and come help her too! What a great Dad! Hmm Father’s Day is approaching.

[…] So, you’re driving around (and not getting flat tires, right Tammi?) […]

Meh…there were days this week that sucked too. Like when my Mom went over to my house to meet the gas company guy and he refused to turn it back on because I was missing a nob of some sort on my water heater. WHEN DID THAT BECOME A RULE!?!! Anyway, my wonderful father stepped in again and fixed it that very evening and I am now back up and functioning at full steam!!
