Long Journey Home

Filed under: General — admin @ 9:34 pm

I haven’t blogged since December 22nd in the year of our Lord 2007. I had no idea I had been away from you all for that long!! How you must be suffering!! (This is proving to be difficult because the boy has decided to quiz Kate and I on “Friends” trivia. I’m winning and I’m not the least bit ashamed.)

I have not left you unattended without cause. This you must understand. I have put in quality time studying for the PHR exam that I took at the end of January. Since then, I’d like to say that I have no excuse for the lack of blog but alas, I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into work. Well, that and living up to my New Year’s resolutions which were:
1. Exercise (I went to the gym 2 whole times!!)
2. Cook (I’m actually getting better at this one. I’m up to averaging 3 times per week but only when the boy is home. The weeks that he’s at his dad’s FORGET IT.)
3. Spend Wisely (So far I’m failing miserably at this one. I’ve got some expensive habits. Yarn ain’t cheap and neither are Kathy purses. A girl’s got to have nice things and a hobby now.)

So you can see that I’ve just been very busy. (Uh oh, the boy is back out her quizzing again.) So since I’ve been away for so long, here’s a few ways to know if you might be a Tammi Burlison…

You Might Be A Tammi Burlison if:

1. You love winter and even though it’s just plain bitter cold outside these days, you’re not quite ready for it to be over
2. You sometimes wonder what it’s like to view you from anyone else’s perspective
3. You quickly realize how silly that is because who’d want to be anyone but you??
4. You wish you had more time to read but you also wouldn’t be happy if you worked less than you currently do
5. You are content with the direction your career is going, there are bumps but you’re willing to fall over them
6. Metallica RULES
7. James and Kirk shed too much but you love them too much to part with them
8. Same goes for the boy
9. Just kidding, he doesn’t really shed
10. You are currently getting over the hurt of your one time mentor not making time to see you when he was in town
11. You contemplate the desire to be in a relationship frequently but always come back to not wanting the headache
12. You sometimes snap at your closest friends
13. You’re beginning to think they’re OK with it
14. You spend too much money on yarn and not enough on fixing up the house
15. Today was taxing and stressful but you aren’t thinking of ways of getting out of doing it again tomorrow

That should tide you over for now. I’ll have more for you soon my pretties, I promise!!

  1. I know nothing about snapping. ;-) PS. I didn’t know about 10, but that makes me sad. But you have a silver fox and a tool these days.

  2. You’re back!!!! BTW, The Sister counts as a close friend and yes she is definitely OK with the occasional snapping. There’s always a good story after things have calmed down.
